SERVICES

Privacy programme development, implementation & ongoing management

Support with establishing a privacy programme and managing its operational cycle: assess, protect, sustain and respond.

When is this service relevant?

For organisations establishing a consistent privacy management framework, aligning practices across a group or strengthening an existing programme. Support can cover the whole programme or a selected stage.

Programme foundations and governance

I work with your organisation to define the scope, objectives and priorities. I help establish responsibilities, resources, management reporting, policies, procedures and staff training.

The ongoing programme cycle

Once established, the programme operates through four connected activities. These recur and are adapted to the organisation’s operations and identified risks.

Assessment (Assess)

I help map personal data and its flows, review compliance, processes, systems and vendors, identify gaps and determine which further assessments are needed.

Implementing safeguards (Protect)

I advise on organisational and technical safeguards and integrating data protection requirements into processes and systems, working with the relevant specialists on technical implementation.

Sustaining effectiveness (Sustain)

I help define measures of performance, plan reviews, evaluate controls and monitor recommendations. I advise on programme updates as operations or legal requirements change.

Responding to requests and incidents (Respond)

I help organise the handling of individual requests, complaints and breaches. Lessons from specific cases inform recommendations to improve procedures and safeguards.

This is a continuous improvement cycle: findings from assessments, monitoring and responses inform programme updates. Implementation support is scoped separately from the DPO’s independent compliance monitoring.
